Siler City To Turn Off Taps With Water Limits

Posted Updated

SILER CITY, N.C. — Town officials plan to reinstitute water restrictions, beginning Wednesday.

The town's main source of water, the Rocky River, is 8 feet below normal levels and continues to drop.

Under the restrictions, residents won't be allowed to water lawns or wash cars. Residents also will be asked to cut their water usage inside homes and businesses.

Violations will cost $500 for a first offense.
