Crash Causes Temporary Snarl On I-40

RALEIGH, N.C. — Traffic is back to normal on Interstate 40 after a crash caused major tie-ups on one side of the highway.

The two-car collision occurred in the westbound lane near the Gorman Street on-ramp shortly before 10 p.m. Friday. Police said both vehicles were merging onto the highway when one rear-ended the other.

According to investigators, one person was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
