TARBORO, N.C. — A Tarboro High School teacher is accused of abusing a handicapped student.
Police charged Carter Suggs with misdemeanor assault on a handicapped person. He's accused of hitting an autistic child with a yardstick.
Suggs is suspended with pay. The incident remains under investigation by the school system.
