Chairman Resigns From State Lottery Commission

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — State lottery chairman Charles Sanders said he is stepping down from the commission.

The move comes one year after he took charge of starting North Carolina's game from its inception.

Sanders said he is proud of the lottery creation. However, he also said people should not expect it to solve education funding woes.

Gov. Mike Easley is expected to name a replacement for the position in the near future.
