Anthony Tyrone McMillan, 25, of 903 Willow St., is charged with two counts of armed robbery and two counts of first-degree murder, authorities said. He is being held without bail in the Cumberland County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday morning.
The bodies of 49-year old Marcus Alexander Robinson and 29-year old Tammy Rosario were found inside the Car Wash Express, at 5256 Front St. in Stedman, early last Tuesday by employees. Robinson owned the business and lived inside the warehouse, and Rosario worked there, authorities said.
Authorities said robbery was the motive in the slayings and that the Robinson knew at least one of the victims.
"No, sir, I did not do it," a tearful McMillan said as he was taken to jail. "I don't know (who killed them)."
Investigators still have not released a cause of death. The victims' bodies were sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Chapel Hill for autopsies.
