DURHAM, N.C. — A policy that takes place starting this Friday at
Northgate Mall
in Durham is generating controversy.
On Fridays and Saturdays from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., teenagers are banned from the mall unless they are accompanied by an adult.
Some say the policy is not fair and discriminates against young people.
However, mall officials say customer service suffers when employees have to keep an eye on large groups of kids wandering around at night.
