NASH COUNTY, N.C. — The body of a 61-year-old man was found Tuesday afternoon in a pond off U.S. Highway 301, authorities said.
The unidentified man went fishing Monday and never returned home, authorities said. His family searched for him through the night and found his moped Tuesday morning near a creek
about three miles north of Whitakers
, authorities said.
A search of the area turned up his body in the pond a short time later, authorities said.
There were no signs of foul play, authorities said.
