Nortel Names New President for Europe, Middle East, Africa

TORONTO — Darryl Edwards, a longtime executive with

Nortel

, is the company's new president for Europe, Middle East and Africa operations.

Edwards, who was named to the post on Tuesday, replaces Steve Pusey. Pusey is joining Vodafone Group as its chief technology officer.

A 14-year Nortel veteran, Edwards' most recent position was president of Northern Europe, Middle East and a Nortel joint venture in Turkey. He has also led Nortel operations in Israel and Germany. He will be based in Maidenhead, England.

Pusey had worked for Nortel since 1982.
