Former Icoria Operation Moves From RTP Office To Morrisville

Posted Updated

MORRISVILLE, N.C. — The remaining staff and operations of Icoria have been transferred to a facility in Morrisville by the new owners of the company.

Clinical Data, which is based in Newton, MA, said Thursday that the Icoria operation has been relocated from its former headquarters in Research Triangle Park. The company was known as Paradigm Genetics before its name was changed to Icoria. Clinical Data acquired Icoria in December of 2005.

The former Icoria operation has been consolidated in a facility operated by Cogenics. Cogenics, formerly known as Genaissance, also was acquired by Clinical Data.

The Icoria headquarters in RTP were leased, and a financial settlement was reached with the building owners, Clinical Data said. Terms were not disclosed.

Icoria was launched in 1997 and once occupied two custom-designed 50,000-square foot buildings. One building was later taken over by Monsanto when it acquired Icoria's agricultural research business in 2005.

Clinical Data provides molecular and pharmacogenomics services and genetic testing.
