Last week, Ben Barrick was arrested and charged with stalking, trespassing, communicating threats, making harassing phone calls and assault with a deadly weapon.
Detectives will not say if Barrick and the woman he is accused of stalking know each other, but said they believe he hung out in the woods near her residence. Investigators said they found night-vision goggles among trees and a handgun in Barrick's pickup truck.
Barrick is currently out of jail under a $25,000 bond.
In March, a grand jury indicted Barrick on a charge of involuntary manslaughter. He is accused of flying the helicopter that crashed and killed Franklin County Deputy Ted Horton in May 2004, despite warnings that the aircraft was unsafe.
He is also named in a civil negligence suit filed by Horton's widow.
