CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Ruth Burnett, a member of the staff at the Office of Technology Transfer at UNC Charlotte, is taking over as acting director.

Burnett replaces Mark Wdowik, who is leaving to become vice president of technology transfer at the Colorado State University Research Foundation. He worked at UNCC for six years.

Burnett has worked for the state of North Carolina for 20 years.

"I am honored to be entrusted with this responsibility," Burnett said. "I have worked closely with Mark Wdowik for over five years building a strong infrastructure between the university and the Charlotte business community in technology transfer, entrepreneurship and economic development. It is an exciting time for this university and I am proud to be a part of the team at UNC Charlotte."
