919 Marketing To Work With Several Groups On Telecom Policy

HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. — 919 Marketing

, a provider of consulting and public relations services, will work with several local government agencies on developing a campaign about telecom policy.

The National Association of Counties (NACo), the National League of Cities (NLC), the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (NATOA) and the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) retained Holly Springs-based 919 to help the groups create a messaging campaign that will be delivered to Congress.

"The four associations have banded together to provide a balanced perspective on pending telecom legislation and the potentially devastating financial impact it may have on local communities across the country," said Libby Beaty, executive director for NATOA. "Given the fact that the telecommunications industry is spending millions of dollars to convince the public and their national legislators to eliminate local cable franchising fees, control of right of ways, and taxing authority we needed a grassroots marketing partner who could make sure our message was heard and acted on by our local communities, who stand to lose out to the interests of big business."
