MOORE COUNTY, N.C. — Some Moore County residents said they saw an unwanted visitor on a driving range.
Two people in the Seven Lakes area think they spotted a mountain lion in one of the gated communities.
One witness was a security guard in the area.
"Oh, he said, 'You wouldn't believe what I just saw, a mountain lion, and the tail's as big as the body and it was a little skinny,'" said co-worker C.L. Rhodes.
However, animal control officers said it's unlikely a mountain lion would turn up in that area. Without proof, such as a footprint, they don't plan to set traps.
Authorities said no one has been hurt.
