Fayetteville Police Identify Suspect In Taxi-Driver Assault

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C/ — Fayetteville police have identified a man wanted in connection with an assault on a taxi-cab driver.

Investigators said Johnny Savva Jr. drove off in a minivan taxi on Tuesday after an argument regarding a payment with Dorothy Elliott, 38. Elliott was dragged behind the car. She was treated at a local hospital and released on Wednesday.

Savva, 28, is charged for possession of a stolen vehicle, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and obtaining property by false pretense.

He stands about 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighs about 250 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes.
