FAIRMONT, N.C. — Robeson County authorities are investigating a fatal hit-and-run.
At about 4:30 a.m. Saturday, Billy Ray Brownlee, 39, of Fair Bluff, was walking west across
N.C. Highway 904 near Oliver Church Road
when a passing vehicle struck him, officials said.
Brownlee was dead when Highway Patrol troopers arrived to the scene.
Investigators currently have no leads on the vehicle or driver and ask that anyone with information about the hit-and-run to contact the North Carolina Highway Patrol at
