Robber May Have Held Up Three Area Banks

CARY, N.C. — Cary police are asking for the public's help in catching a suspect who may have robbed three area banks on Tuesday.

The alleged robber walked into the First Citizens Bank on Kildare Farms Road around 2:30 p.m. and passed a note to a teller demanding money. The suspect then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was hurt during the incident.

The suspect is described as a man in his 50s, around 6 feet tall and weighing around 220 pounds, with a medium build. Authorities said he was wearing a green shirt, dirty blue jeans, and a camouflage baseball cap during the robbery.

The FBI said that a similar robbery occurred shortly after 11 a.m. Tuesday in Fayetteville, and another one followed around 3 p.m. in Raleigh. Authorities said that the three robberies appear to be related.
