Suspect In Kinston Shootout Surrenders To Marshals

KINSTON, N.C. — A suspect in a June shootout in which two people were killed and five others wounded surrendered to authorities Tuesday.

Milton Lee "Chub" Jones surrendered to U.S. marshals at a pre-arranged meeting in Greene County. He has been charged with one count of murder and is being held in the Lenoir County Jail without bond.

Lageana Roxianne Brown, 25, and Dante Romel Suggs, 21, were killed in the June 23 shootout at what police said was an illegal liquor house.

Derek Level "Twin" Suggs, the brother of Dante Suggs, also has been charged with murder in the case. He was arrested in Raleigh in July.

A third suspect, Keith Wayne "Boom" Bryant, remains at large.

Alton Gregory Davis, 24, of Kinston, has been charged with being an accessory after the fact of murder, and Anthony Lamont Roberson, 19, of La Grange, has been charged with felony aiding and abetting.
