Eleven jurors chosen in UNC murder trial
Attorneys in the murder trial of Laurence Alvin Lovette Jr. must choose one more juror and two alternate jurors before proceeding with opening statements.

Eleven jurors have been selected since the process began Tuesday. A 12th juror and two alternate jurors must still be chosen.
Laurence Alvin Lovette Jr., 21, is on trial for the March 5, 2008, death of Eve Marie Carson, 22, who was the UNC student body president at the time of her death.
Opening statements could begin Monday, and attorneys have said they believe the trial could be over before Christmas.
Investigators say Lovette and Demario James Atwater kidnapped Carson from her Chapel Hill home and forced her to withdraw $1,400 from ATMs before they shot her five times in a neighborhood about a half-mile from the UNC campus.
Atwater pleaded guilty last year to state and federal charges and is serving a life prison sentence without the possibility of parole.
Lovette, who is also a suspect in the January 2008 shooting death of Duke University graduate student Abhijit Mahato, faces life in prison if he's convicted of Carson's death.
Jurors in the Carson case could hear evidence about Mahato's death. Superior Court Judge Allen Baddour denied a defense motion Monday to prohibit prosecutors from introducing it.
