According to the Raleigh Police Department around 10:30 p.m. officers D.A. Langford and M.D. Larson confronted a suspect in a stolen vehicle in the parking lot of the Summerwood Apartment complex on Pleasant Valley Road.
Police said the suspect did not follow the officers' commands and drove toward Langford. Both officers fired their weapons, according to the police department.
The suspect, Clinton Gregory Woods, 26, was struck in the upper right arm. According to police, Woods continued to drive a short distance before wrecking the vehicle.
Woods was treated and released from WakeMed. He was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, attempt to inflict serious injury, and possession of stolen property and other charges. Woods is in the Wake County jail on a $125,000 secured bond.
There were some additional charges filed against Woods on Friday: hit & run, failure to stop, careless & reckless driving, and driving with a revoked license. These charges carry a $10,000 cash bond, and speeding to elude arrest carries an additional $20,000 secured bond.
The Raleigh Police Department's Internal Affairs Unit and the SBI are investigating.
