New Wake Commissioner Sworn Into Office

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — Wake County's newest commissioner wasted no time getting down to business.

Harold Webb was sworn into office during Monday's county board meeting.

Webb was nominated Saturday to serve the two years remaining in the term of former county Commissioner Vernon Malone.

Malone relinquished the seat last week when he was sworn into the state Senate.

Webb beat out former Wake County Sheriff John Baker for the spot.
