DURHAM, N.C. — A Roxboro man who admitted vandalizing a Durham church is behind bars, but not for that crime.
James Goods admitted smashing the windows of the Calvary United Methodist Church.
The Rev. Laurie Coffman discovered the damage just before Christmas. Goods told Coffman he was drunk and upset about a breakup when he threw bricks at the church.
Officials said the vandalism caused more than $15,000 worth in damage.
The church did not press charges, but Goods is still locked up in the Person County Jail for larceny.
