FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office says a $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest in connection with a shooting and robbery on Christmas Day.

According to investigators, 22-year-old Hector Diaz, Jr., was shot multiple times and robbed by four African-American males as he was jogging in his neighborhood around 8:30 p.m. The incident took place at the intersection of Bolton and Everette, in the Cumberland Road area of Cumberland County, and the suspects fled the scene in a burgundy Millenium.

Deputies say Diaz was jogging when the suspect vehicle pulled up to him. One of the suspects got out of the vehicle, approached Diaz and demanded money. Diaz was then shot several times.

Diaz was in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center on Wednesday night with non life-threatening wounds.
