Strong Winds Hinder Construction Of Raleigh Church

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — Winds were strong enough to cause a lot of damage to a church in Raleigh Friday.

St. John AME Church on Tryon Road took a severe beating from the early morning storm. The wind twisted steel beams that would have supported the new church's new roof.

The contractor said he was grateful the work site was empty at the time.

The project should be delayed by only a couple of weeks.
