RALEIGH, N.C. — Convicted murder Henry Lee Hunt has been on death row for nearly 17 years.
He found out Thursday when he will die.
Correction Secretary Theodis Beck has set Jan. 24, 2003, as Hunt's execution date.
The execution is scheduled for 2 a.m. at Central Prison in Raleigh.
Hunt, 58, was sentenced to death on Dec. 20, 1985, in Robeson County Superior Court for the September 1984 murders of Jackie Ransom and Larry Jones.
Hunt also received two 10-year sentences for two counts of conspiracy to commit murder.
