According to the FBI, Jacobs fled to Rich Square. He was captured Thursday without incident by members of the task force, the Rich Square Police Department and the Northampton County Sheriff's Office.
Jacobs was being held in Northampton County Thursday afternoon pending extradition.
The task force is comprised of officers from the N.C. Department of Corrections, the Durham Co. Sheriff's Office, the Durham Police Department, the N.C. Highway Patrol, the Raleigh Police Department and the Wake Co. Sheriff's Office.
Jacobs allegedly shot Jackson with an AK-47 on Dec. 20, 2001, in Petersburg, Va. He also was being sought on a federal warrant for Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution.
The FBI's Richmond office found out that Jacobs had fled to Rich Square.
