McKinney + Silver Heading To American Tobacco Campus

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — The Triangle's biggest advertising agency is moving from one side of the Triangle to the other.

McKinney + Silver is moving to the American Tobacco Campus in 2004. The agency has been on the Fayetteville Street Mall for more than three decades.

McKinney + Silver's new home will be the Reed building on the American Tobacco Campus, which has also attracted Glaxo Smith-Kline, Duke and Compuware.

Company officials say they want a "real destination" for clients and employees.

"Part of what attracts us to American Tobacco is the character of the old buildings. It's classic old warehouse space, which is traditionally where agencies tend to like to go," said Brad Brineger, chief executive officer of McKinney + Silver. "I don't feel in any way that we've moved from Raleigh to Durham. I feel we've moved from one location to another in Raleigh-Durham."

The American Tobacco Campus is being developed by Capitol Broadcasting Co., the parent company of WRAL-TV.
