Two Kentucky Prison Escapees May Be In N.C.

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — Authorities say two men who escaped from a Kentucky prison appear to be criss-crossing the country and kidnapping people. Authorities say the two suspects may be in North Carolina.

Authorities say Chadrick Fulks and Branden Basham escaped from a prison in Kentucky earlier this month. Authorities say the suspects kidnapped a man and tied him to a tree in Indiana. Authorities say the pair then headed to South Carolina, where they reportedly broke into a house near Myrtle Beach last Thursday and shot at a witness trying to stop them.

A short time later, a surveillance tape shows the escapees went to a Wal-Mart in Conway and abducted a woman from the parking lot. Police say Alice Donovan, 44, is missing and the suspects may be in her car, a 1994 dark blue BMW with South Carolina license plate

Authorities believe the suspects used ATMs in Myrtle Beach, in Durham last Friday and in Charlotte. Police say the escapees appear to be on a cross-country crime spree and are asking for help to find them before they strike again.
