DURHAM, N.C. — Marcella Clement, the 33-year-old daughter of Durham City Councilman Howard Clement, will make her first court appearance Monday after being arrested Friday for allegedly assaulting her father's girlfriend.
Clement is charged with assault with a deadly weapon, simple assault and common law robbery. She was being held in the Durham County Jail, with her bond set at $25,000.
Clement reportedly stabbed the woman during an argument and stole the woman's purse. According to the arrest report, the court ordered that she have no contact with the victim, who went to Duke Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
