HENDERSON, N.C. — A retired Vance County principal was arrested Thursday on charges he used the Internet to lure a teenager for sex.

Officers arrested 58-year old Jerry Hoyle outside Richmond, Va., after he made arrangements to meet who he thought was a 13-year-old girl at a restaurant. Instead, it was a police officer.

Hoyle is charged with three counts of using a computer to solicit sex from a minor and three counts of attempted indecent liberties with a minor. He is being held in the Chesterfield County Jail on a $15,000 bond pending a pretrial hearing on Nov. 15.
