Rolesville Masonic Lodge Damaged In Fire

Posted Updated

ROLESVILLE, N.C. — Firefighters from three departments worked through the night to put out a fire at a Masonic hall in the Wake County town of Rolesville.

The fire call went out around 2:30 a.m. after a police officer saw the fire from a block away.

Crews said flames spread quickly and were shooting through the roof of Rolesville Lodge No. 683.

The fire was contained, but crews said the two-story building is heavily damaged. The basement also suffered water damage.

The building has been a meeting place for the Mason and Eastern Star organizations since 1957.

Firefighters were able to save some of groups' memorabilia.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
