Crop-Duster Pilot Survives Crash Near Goldsboro

Posted Updated

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A crop-duster pilot managed to walk away from the second crash of his career Wednesday evening.

Officials said the plane went down in Saulston, near Highway 13 and True Vine Road, northeast of Goldsboro.

Witnesses said the pilot, Danny Lancaster, was spraying a field when his plane's tail hit a cable and went down.

Officials said Lancaster's plane, which was specially-designed with a roll cage, and the fact he was wearing a helmet likely prevented more serious injuries.
