Day Care To Stop Transportation Services Following Toddler's Death

WAKE FOREST, N.C. — A Wake County day-care center where a 2-year-old died after being left in a van will reopen Monday, but will no longer provide transportation.

Authorities said Ranika Clifton died after the driver for Corinth Christian Daycare left her in a carseat inside the van for almost eight hours Tuesday.

The driver, Tim Day, apparently forgot she was there. Investigators have not decided whether to file charges.

Ranika's funeral was held Saturday.

The Wake County Sheriff's Department and the state Division ofChild Development are investgating the case.
