Suspicious Death Under Investigation In Moore County

Deputies said Sherri Lynn Howell, 28, was found dead in her bedroom Monday evening. Authorities said they found Howell on the floor with injuries to her head created by a blunt object.

Howell's aunt, who was visiting from Texas, found the body and called authorities. Family members said they had not heard from Howell since Friday and became concerned.

Authorities are also looking for a man who lived with her, 33-year-old Jimmy Dale Sheffield, who was reported missing by his family.

Also missing is Howell's car, a 1997 teal-green Chevrolet Cavalier, with North Carolina license NSS-3765.
