RALEIGH, N.C. — Two robbery suspects are in custody after a chase that weaved through several Wake County towns Monday afternoon.

Raleigh police said the chase started at the intersection of Capital Boulevard and Millbrook Road at a store called Outer Skin, after an apparent robbery.

Raleigh police spotted the car in central downtown Raleigh near Dawson Street. During the chase, two police cars crashed into each other on South Wilmington Street. Authorities say the officers in those cars were not seriously injured.

Authorities say the suspects led police on a chase through Cary and Holly Springs. Authorities say the 30-minute chase ended south of town on Optimist Farm Road near Holly Springs and Fuquay-Varina.

When police ended the chase, one of the suspects in the car tried to get away, but he was later apprehended by police.

Police have arrested and charged Kareem Lewis of Henderson and Jerry Henderson of Warrenton with armed robbery as well as other charges.
