DURHAM, N.C. — Two of Durham's finest were honored Monday night for their service to their community.

Officer Steve Hall received the Governor's Crime Prevention award for his work with inner city kids at the Durham County commissioner's meeting.

Hall works with the "Streetlights to Starlight" program, which keeps children busy with activities to help keep them out of trouble.

The state crime commission also honored Cpl. Walter McIntyre of the Durham County Sheriff's Office for his work to help cut down on crimes against senior citizens.
