Posted Updated

POPE AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. — More troops from Fort Bragg are headed to Afghanistan. The latest deployment took place Thursday morning.

Soldiers with the 1st Corps Support Command, or COSCOM, deployed from Pope Air Force Base around 6:45 a.m.

COSCOM soldiers are responsible for providing the ammunition, equipment and other supplies troops need in battle.

Soldiers said they are well trained and ready for whatever lies ahead.

The advance group will help pave the way for thousands of soldiers from the 82nd Airborne Division who will be deployed to the region later this month and throughout midsummer.
