Garner Votes To Enforce Two-Dog Limit

Posted Updated

GARNER, N.C. — Some Garner residents could be dogged by an old law.

The town's Board of Aldermen said it will uphold an ordinance to limit families to two dogs if they have yards smaller than 20,000 square feet, which is a little less than one-half acre.

Residents will be fined $100 a day per dog, if caught.

The ordinance has been in effect for years; however,Garner officials said last month that they are strictly enforcing the law because of mounting complaints about dogs.

Officers have already issued several citations.
