DURHAM, N.C. — A Duke student who was attacked in her off-campus apartment is suing the owners of the complex.
The victim was attacked at the Erwin Square Apartments in February.
Her lawsuit claims the owners of the apartment complex failed to provide adequate security. The student was robbed and her attacker tried to rape her.
Police charged Sankie Lennon, 53, with attempted rape and burglary. He is currently being held on a $1 million bond.
