Duplin County investigators said the vehicle belongs to Andrea McKinze-Woodlock of Wade.
McKinze-Woodlock is the mother of two sons. A native of Chicago, she moved to Wade five years ago.
"We were mainly concerned when she was not contacting her two kids," said Ricky Gourdine, Andrea's brother.
Deputies said McKinze-Woodlock told her family she planned to go to Warsaw April 28 on her way to Chicago, but she never arrived. Her son reported her missing May 6.
Authorities found her burned-out vehicle in a wooded area Friday.
"I just feel like he is being held against her will or foul play is involved, but we try to keep every hope that she is alive," Gourdine said.
Officials with the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office said McKinze-Woodlock did not take any clothes or luggage with her on a trip. Family members said McKinze-Woodlock had a history of drug abuse, and they believe that may have something to do with her disappearance.
