Cumberland County Man Jailed On Child Pornography Charges

HOPE MILLS, N.C. — A Cumberland County man is in jail on child pornography charges.

Fayetteville police, Cumberland County deputies and the SBI arrested James Helfer, of Hope Hills, Tuesday afternoon.

Helfer, a long-time town employee, was charged with more than 20 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

Investigators confiscated four computers from Helfer's home, where they said they found more than 1,000 pictures of child porn.
