Raleigh Man Arrested After Allegedly Exposing Himself To Children

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — Just two days before an accused flasher would have been off the streets and on house arrest, Raleigh police said he struck again.

Police said Joseph Hilliard, 27, was supposed to start a house arrest Friday for indecent exposure charges. Now, he is in the Wake County Jail on more misdemeanor indecent exposure charges.

Police said Hilliard hid in the children's section at the public library on Duraleigh Road before exposing himself to two children there Wednesday.

They said Hilliard later went to the Leesville High School baseball field, where he exposed himself to three children under age 13.

"It appears when he found out he was going to be on house arrest, he went out to commit a number of these," said Capt. D.S. Overman of the Raleigh Police Department.

An off-duty Raleigh police officer caught up with Hilliard near the baseball park.
