CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. — Durham novelist and murder suspect Mike Peterson is trying to move on with his life. On Tuesday, Peterson attended a ceremony at Camp Lejeune for the subject of one of his books.
Charlie Twee, also known as Charlie Two Shoes, was made an honorary Marine in a ceremony. As a young boy in China, Charlie befriended a group of Marines and on Tuesday, they saluted him.
Peterson watched the ceremony with a Hollywood producer, who is considering making his book into a movie. Later in the afternoon, Peterson signed copies of his book.
Peterson is accused of the murder of his wife, Kathleen. He will appear in court next month.
