M.E. Report: Garner Woman Had Seizure In Fatal Auto Accident

Posted Updated

GARNER, N.C. — The state medical examiner's office said a Garner woman had a seizure when her sport utility vehicle crashed into a pond, killing her and her 1-month-old daughter.

Danielle Harper, 27, and her 1-month-old daughter Micayla died when their SUV veered off the road Friday morning.

The state medical examiner's office said it appears Harper had a seizure and that she did not have any medication in her system. Her family said Harper was on medication for epilepsy and that she had not had a seizure in years.

Investigators also said that a check of Harper's SUV did not show any signs of mechanical problems.
