Jim Valvano's Words Of Wisdom On Your License Plate?

RALEIGH, N.C. — "Don't Ever Give Up," those words from late N.C. State basketball coach Jim Valvano may soon be on special North Carolina license plates.

Interested fans can apply for the special tags on the

V Foundation Web site

. The legislature approved the deal, but at least 300 people must sign up before a design can be made.

"I hope we get a thousand, and then that will lead to another. I just think it's a wonderful way for people to help," said Nick Valvano, chief executive officer of the V Foundation. "You know, it's inexpensive. It's only $25 a year. It's a good way for everyone to be involved in and help make a difference in our fight against cancer."

Valvano died of cancer on April 28, 1993. A percentage of the fee will go to cancer research.
