Dale Earnhardt Statue To Greet Fans At Daytona

Posted Updated

DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. — A nine-foot monument of a racing legend will greet fans at the Daytona 500 this weekend.

A bronze statue of Dale Earnhardt was unveiled last week, but this is the first time fans will see it up close.

Earnhardt died in the final lap of the Daytona 500 last year.

This year's race promises to be filled with emotion as his son, Dale Earnhardt Jr., takes the same track that claimed his father's life.
