DMV Wants To Make It Harder To Obtain Fake IDs

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — The

Division of Motor Vehicles

wants to use anti-terrorism money to make it harder to get a fake driver's license.

The agency would spend $3 million to add facial recognition software to its digital photo system.

The computer would store license photos, then compare them when people renew their licenses.

The computer match should make it harder to get several licenses under different names or to get a license using someone else's name.
