Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — A popular Raleigh restaurant is closed after being slapped with four pages of serious sanitation violations.

The sign on the front of Ten Ten Chinese Restaurant on Western Boulevard said "closed for remodeling," but a Wake County health inspector shut it down Monday night.

The restaurant's worst problem was related to dangerous food temperatures. According to the report, "multiple tubs" of chicken, shrimp, pork, and fried rice were at unsafe temperatures, along with other buffet items. The report states some food was as much as 38 degrees too cool.

Among the health inspector's other findings:

  • Raw meat was stored in grocery bags.
  • The ice machine was dirty and moldy.
  • Mold was dripping into the ice.
  • An employee wiped his mouth and then handled cooked chicken.
  • The restaurant's final score was a 67.5. The lowest possible score to stay open with is a 70.
