RALEIGH, N.C. — The

Triangle Transit Authority

has selected the final site for a regional rail stop in downtown Raleigh.

The stop will be located near the railroad tracks, just east of the Boylan Avenue Bridge.

The Triangle Transit Authority has spent six years studying a rail system that would connect Raleigh, Cary, Durham and Research Triangle Park.

Federal officials could sign off on the project by the end of this year.
