The show is called "New York Loves America," and will be touring several large cities. But because of Broadway's name and its small-town charm, the production will grace the stage of the local elementary school on Sunday.
"There's a smile on Broadway right now. That's for sure," Amy Stevens, event coordinator, said. "People are having fun with this, so that's one of the good things about the two-week thing. It's just like 'wow,' and we're just living it up these two weeks."
It was a little over a week ago that Stevens heard from New York that the show was coming. Six performers will treat fans to several familiar Broadway tunes, some from musicals like "Oklahoma," "Cabaret" and "Rent."
About 550 people will see the show in person. An overflow crowd will see the show on projection screens in the school gymnasium.
The tickets were gone in 8 minutes.
