Authorities Search For Second Suspect In Fayetteville Pipe Bomb Case

Posted Updated

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Police in Fayetteville are looking for another suspect in a pipe bomb case that shut down a busy intersection last week.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms have issued several federal warrants for 33-year-old Demetrius Stewart in connection with the pipe bomb explosion at Fayetteville Technical Community College last fall.

Authorities also believe that Stewart is connected to the pipe bomb found at a Fayetteville storage facility last week. Police have identified another suspect, Russell Powell, in connection with that bomb as well. Powell is currently located in the Hoke County jail on other charges.

Authorities are asking for your help in finding Stewart. His last known address was at 491 Rock Fish Road in Raeford. However, authorities say Stewart has not been at that address for the past couple of days.

Anyone with information involving the whereabouts of Stewart should call

911

or the ATF at
